Quit Complaining.
J. Panetta
November
28 2007
Our heart thought prayers go out to the family and friends
of Sean Taylor. He will be missed.
I am going to take a different stand on the BCS as everyone is complaining once
again about there being no playoff system in Division 1 football.
Hey, Shut up, quit complaining and enjoy the season. This has been one of the
greatest seasons in recent memory. Every week there has been major upsets,
incredible games, multiple overtime (I like the college process there too) and
excitement.
We have teams that don't belong, or so the so called experts say; taking control
of the top rankings. Who says that these teams don't belong? Oh that's right the
experts at ESPN and we all know that what ever ESPN says is never wrong. Why
shouldn't Missouri and West Virginia deserve as much as a shot at being number
one as USC or LSU?
Look if LSU was really the best team in the country then they would not have
lost two multiple overtime games to unranked opponents. If USC was the greatest
college team ever as they were anointed before the season even started they
would not have lost two games, one of them to Stanford. Heck Notre Dame beat
Stanford.
I like the system, do you want to know why. The games and upsets this season
would have meant nothing, just like Dallas vs. New England and New England vs.
Indianapolis in the NFL. Don't agree? Both of these games were the game of the
century this season in the NFL but when all was said and done they meant
nothing. Why you ask? Because at the end of the season the results don't really
matter except for home field advantage. The college season how ever has had more
meaningful games than ever. Every game this season from week one when Appalachia
State knocked off Michigan has been like a playoff game. All of the upsets,
overtimes and unexpected winners would have meant nothing if you knew that LSU
would be in a playoff at the end of the season.
Tradition in Division 1 has always been like this, so deal with and you so
called experts at ESPN that voted USC and LSU as the greatest teams ever before
the season even started and who never picked LSU to loose to Kentucky and
Arkansas why don't you just shut up and enjoy it.
For this one year we don't need a playoff, things are fun and fine just the way
that they are.
Now my vote on the Heisman. Tim Tebow hands down and that is that.
Don't forget to vote on this week's "Fan Poll"
