Championship Weekend.
J. Panetta
November 30 2007

It is a big Championship Weekend and as we get down to choosing our winners and looser this year, let us remember that our picks are always for fun and usually wrong.

We will start with the Big 12 Championship down in San Antonio featuring #1 Missouri vs. Oklahoma.

Everyone has Oklahoma a lock for the win. Well as one famous person says "Not so fast my friend"

Don't look for the Tigers to just roll over and play dead as they look to avenge their only loss of the season earlier to the Sooners. Chase Daniel will have the game that he needs to get the job done.

Our Pick

Missouri 27 - Oklahoma 20

Next Boston College vs. Virginia Tech for the ACC Title.

We all know what happened earlier this season when these two teams played in monsoon. Virginia Tech controlled the game but lost in the final minutes as Matt Ryan lead a BC comeback.

Don't look for that to happen again as Tech is on a roll and will prevail.

VT 33 - BC 19

How about the SEC Title game featuring recently beaten LSU and Tennessee. Funny at the beginning of the season Volunteer fans wanted head coach Phillip Fulmer run out of town. Now he is up for SEC Coach of the Year.

LSU on the other hand is suffering from a major hangover following their overtime (which we like) loss to Arkansas. To top off being knocked out of the National Championship chase there also is all of the Les Miles to Michigan (which we brought up first) talk.

Rocky Top is on top again.

Tennessee 29 - LSU 22

We don't have to much to say about Pittsburgh vs. W. Virginia.
Pittsburgh is as bad as bad gets.

W. Virginia 53 - Pitt 12

Washington vs. Hawaii in a chance for the Warriors to make the BCS. Look for the Warriors and Colt Brennan to have a big day and Brennan for Heisman talk to get louder.

Hawaii 36 - Washington 17

UCLA vs. USC and the winner goes to the Rose Bowl. Remember last UCLA knocked the mighty Trojans off and ruined their season. The Trojans who earlier this season were being called one of the greatest teams ever will not let that happen again this year.

 Trojans 39 - Bruins 15

3 detained in Sean Taylor homicide.
The Miami Herald Reports that Miami-Dade detectives have detained two teenagers and a man in his 20s in Lee County for questioning in the death of football star Sean Taylor.
