More Grandstanding.

Your tax dollars were hard at work yesterday as Congress
and MLB met together again in Washington to discuss steroids in baseball. Your
hard working representative were throwing kisses at former Senator and catalyst
of the Mitchell Report, George Mitchell on the great job and the way that he
changed the aspect of baseball with his report.
MLB Commissioner Bud Selig was on hand fielding softballs from the hearing
members along with union leader Donald Ferr also fielding not so tough
questions. The representatives on hand could not even pronounce players or even
Bud Selig's name correctly. That show how they are really on top of the subject.
The hearing was started off with representatives saying that they weren't hear
to talk about the past. Well wasn't the Mitchell Report about the past? I wasn't
about the current or the future, it looked into PAST steroid use. It named
players and stirred up a mess with Roger Clemens against former trainer Brian
McNamee.
The only real news that came out of this day was that 2002 AL MVP Miguel Tejada
will be investigated for lying to committee staffers when he was questioned in
connection to Rafael Palmeiro's perjury case in 2005.
My question is couldn't are tax money be spent on better things? Isn't the
economy in the toilet? Aren't gas prices soaring? Aren't jobs being outsourced
like crazy? Isn't the dollar in the crapper? The answer is YES. All that this
was; was more grandstanding by people who have no real interest in the game of
baseball.
Is Vince Young going to be known as the new coach killer? A title that was once
given to Michael Vick because of the the coaches came and went from the Atlanta
Falcons while he was quarterback may have changed yesterday with the firing of
offensive co-coordinator Norm Chow.
Look the Titans offense stunk this season but Chow who has been on the staff for
three years is not the reason. Chow who has become famous for developing young
quarterbacks in college were he coached he worked with Carson Palmer, Philip
Rivers, Steve Young and Jim McMahon.
Vince Young may be a gifted athlete but once again you are seeing what happens
when you draft and athlete to be an NFL quarterback instead of a real
quarterback. Thinks Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Brett Farve; what are they? They
are quarterbacks not great athletes. The next coach to go because of Vince Young
at Tennessee will be the head coach Jeff Fisher.
Here's a good one. It is reported that former West Virginia and new University
of Michigan Head Coach Rich Rodriguez deleted all of the team records. This has
been denied by Rodriguez' attorney that he did not shred any documents. With
this, the death threats, family and threats and everything else that has gone
one, it almost sounds like Rodriguez will need to get a restraining order
against the State of West Virginia. They really sound like the ex-girlfriend
that can't get over it.
The Baltimore Ravens have been reported to have offered Cowboys offensive
coordinator Jason Garrett the head coaching job yesterday and he is considering
but he is also interviewing in Atlanta. Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is said to be
wanting to keep Jarrett with the Cowboys and has been reported to have said that
he will match any offer made. Imagine what Coach Wade Phillips must be thinking?
Is it possible that the Cowboys offensive coordinator could end up making more
than the coach?
It has been stated that Jones will try to set something up where Phillips
coaches the Cowboys for one more season and turns thing over to Jarrett. The
question about that is, where will the Rooney Rule fit in? Aren't you supposed
to interview a minority first? That makes ask hmmm?
What was your opinion on the San Diego Chargers and their
jawing with the fans during this past weekend's game against the Colts? Let us
know.
