Full Steam Ahead For KB Titan Racing as NHRA Countdown to the Championship Begins

The 12 races housed within the 2025 NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series regular season were exceptionally productive for KB Titan Racing, the Pro Stock team originally formed in 2002 through the vision and efforts of Las Vegas businessman and diehard drag racing enthusiast Ken Black. Black, who passed away at the age of 79 on August 26, 2025, built the team from the ground up with Greg Anderson at the helm, and during his lifetime, he watched as they earned 10 world championships and an astounding 205 national event wins.

Although he retired at the conclusion of 2022, Black left the team in good hands as KB Racing merged with Titan Racing Engines to form a true powerhouse. With the NHRA Countdown to the Championship set to begin this week at the 40th annual NHRA Reading Nationals presented by Nitro Fish, that powerhouse is eager to build on what they started, honoring Black all along the way. Here’s a look at the foundation laid by KB Titan Racing during the regular season.

Dallas Glenn locks down regular-season championship


In a breathtaking battle, the regular-season championship came down to the wire between KB Titan Racing’s Dallas Glenn, driver of the RAD Torque Systems Chevrolet, and reigning and six-time world champion Greg Anderson and his HendrickCars.com Camaro. Ultimately, it was Glenn who claimed the the first official Mission Foods Drag Racing Series regular-season championship after unofficially winning it in each of the previous two seasons.

The two friendly rivals traded the points lead back and forth throughout the regular season, never leaving room for another. Glenn started the season with the points lead after a win in Gainesville, Anderson won back-to-back in Phoenix and Pomona to get it back, then Glenn won the four-wide events in Las Vegas and Charlotte to take control once more. With victory in both Epping and Bristol, Anderson held the lead through Norwalk, but Glenn’s final round there at the Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals, followed by an incredible showing at his home race in Seattle, held him glued to the top.

Anderson ran the table in Brainerd with the quickest car throughout qualifying and a win on Sunday to make a powerful statement ahead of the U.S. Nationals, the final race of the regular season.

“We’re going to Indy with darn near a dead-tie,” said Anderson in Brainerd, who was just nine points behind Glenn at that point. “Whoever can come out of Indy the best is going to be the regular season champion, and Dallas and I both want that, bad.”

It was terrible tire shake in the second round of the U.S. Nationals that was the decider. Anderson was out, while Glenn advanced to the semifinals with the regular-season championship finally in hand.

“This is the best car I’ve ever had,” said Glenn in Indianapolis. “The only thing that’s kept this car from winning is me. If I do my job, do the best that I can and not make mistakes, it’s going to be pretty tough the rest of the year. [Crew chiefs] Rob Downing, Dave Connolly, Nate VanWassenhove, they do a fantastic job, and all the engine guys back at the KB Titan shop, they’ve been working their butts off. This feels really good.”

In addition to resetting the national record for elapsed time to 6.443-second in Gainesville, Anderson earned his 1,000th round win on the way to the Bristol win. Only one other driver in NHRA history has accumulated more: Funny Car legend John Force, who stands at 1,460. Anderson now has 1,010. At the Cornwell Quality Tools NHRA U.S. Nationals, Anderson tied Pro Stock pioneer Warren Johnson for the most No. 1 qualifying starts. At present, they each have 138.

KB Titan Racing Pro Stock driver Cory Reed, driving his J&A Service Chevrolet, became the 73rd Pro Stock driver in NHRA history to earn a national event win. Reed defeated Glenn in Norwalk for his career-first title.

In Epping at the New England Nationals, Cody Coughlin drove his Cody Construction Camaro to the pole for the first time in his young career, enhancing his bid for Rookie of the Year honors. Coughlin has qualified in the top half eight times this year, including a pair of starts from the No. 2 spot, and reached the semifinals in Seattle. Matt Latino, who has so far competed in seven events, is also a Rookie of the Year contender with a final-round finish in Las Vegas and top-half qualifying efforts at each event attempted.

Anderson wins Mission #2Fast2Tasty championship


The unique Mission #2Fast2Tasty NHRA Challenge is a specialty race that takes place during qualifying at 10 events during the regular season. Points earned in the challenge are exceptionally valuable as they are only awarded after the NHRA Countdown to the Championship points are reset.

Anderson raced in all but one of the Mission #2Fast2Tasty NHRA Challenge bonus events. He was twice the winner (Brainerd and Indy), was runner-up three times (Pomona, Charlotte, and Seattle), and finished third three times (Phoenix, Epping, and Bristol). His fourth-place finish in Las Vegas also netted a point, bringing his grand total to 17 bonus marks. Ultimately, Anderson won the Mission #2Fast2Tasty NHRA Challenge 2025 championship by a single point over Glenn.

“Those points mean so much, and it was just so cool to get that win,” said Anderson. “I didn’t think I could clinch the title; we started off kind of slow with that deal this year, but we came out strong and got ‘er done.”

Glenn’s three wins, two additional final rounds, and two third-place finishes in the specialty series landed him 16 of those critical Countdown bonus points. While Anderson and Glenn were trading the Pro Stock points lead back and forth during the regular season, Glenn also had a watchful eye on Matt Hartford, who gets his power from the KB Titan Racing engine shop and has veteran crew chief Eddie Guarnaccia on the wrenches.

“Matt Hartford put on a clinic on how to win the #2Fast2Tasty Challenge, and he gathered a lot of points,” said Glenn in Seattle after locking down his second win in the bonus race. “That first round with Hartford [in Seattle] was very important; I knew I needed to stop him so he didn’t end up going around me when the points were reset, and thankfully, I was able to do that.”

Hartford — who also had 16 points in the final standings — shined particularly bright in #2Fast2Tasty competition, tallying three wins and two final rounds as well as one third-place finish. Although the bonus marks did not alter the order of the Pro Stock standings heading into the Countdown to the Championship, it increased the distance between the trio of KB Titan drivers and the next-closest competitors by a round.

Matt Hartford strikes gold in GETTRX Pro Stock NHRA All-Star Callout

One of the most anticipated events of the season took place in Norwalk at Summit Motorsports Park during the Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals. The GETTRX Pro Stock All-Star Callout gave the previous season’s runner-up, Matt Hartford, the chance for revenge, and revenge he had as he defeated reigning world champion Greg Anderson in the final round of the bonus race.

Anderson got the nod in 2024, but this time around, Hartford was victorious in his Total Seal Camaro to claim the $40,000 prize. En route to the win, Hartford picked off fellow KB Titan Racing-powered drivers Eric Latino and Dallas Glenn. In each of the last three seasons, the Pro Stock All-Star Callout has been won with KB Titan horsepower: Camrie Caruso in 2023, Anderson in 2024, and Hartford in 2025.

An abundance of well-applied horsepower

A large statement was made at the very first race of the year when Greg Anderson blasted to a new national record in his HendrickCars.com Chevrolet Camaro. The monstrous 6.443-second run was a precursor to a series of wildly quick passes that would be handed out by the team in the spring and summer races ahead of the Countdown to the Championship. KB Titan Racing clocked low elapsed time at each of the regular season events and earned all 12 of the low qualifier awards, as well as the GESi low qualifier bonus awards. Greg Anderson, Dallas Glenn, Matt Hartford, Deric Kramer, Eric Latino, Matt Latino, Cody Coughlin, and Cory Reed have all reset their career best numbers this season with KB Titan Racing engines, and the team recorded top speed of the meet nine times.

The six-race 2025 Mission Foods Drag Racing Series NHRA Countdown to the Championship begins September 11-14 in Reading, Pa., with the 40th annual NHRA Reading Nationals presented by Nitro Fish. The event at Maple Grove Raceway stands as the start of three in a row, with events in Charlotte and St. Louis falling in quick succession. The season championship will be decided after the final three races in Dallas, Las Vegas, and Pomona.
