We’ve reached the weekend at the 2025 Butterfield Bermuda Championship at the ever-scenic Port Royal Golf Club.
Almost every player was able to complete their second round Friday, but six of them had to come back Saturday morning to finish before the 36-hole cut could be made. At the top of the leaderboard is one of three Canadians in this week’s field, Adam Hadwin, who fired rounds of 65 and 66 to get to 11 under and enter the weekend with a one-shot lead. On top of that, “game within the game” continues on the PGA Tour. The top 100 in the FedEx Cup Fall standings keep their PGA Tour card for 2026. With just one event remaining after this, it’s crunch time for players who aren’t already exempt for next year.

With the second round of play done, here’s a look at the tee times for the third round.
Sahith Theegala went off just after 9:30 a.m. for his third round in Bermuda with a much more positive outlook than he had the day before. Theegala opened the tournament with a 76, but by virtue of a 65 on Friday, he made the cut and sat 10 strokes off the leader.
Theegala said it might be easier to play when you’re loose, and thinking you’ve already been eliminated from contention.
“I think sometimes it’s almost easier when you’re so far away from the tournament. I kind of played myself out of the tournament the first day so … I guess I shouldn’t say that, but it felt like I played myself out of the tournament,” he said. “Figured I need to come out and be pretty aggressive. But I felt confident. I don’t know why, sometimes you play good golf or bad golf, whatever it is, and you’re not confident. I had a bad day yesterday and I still had the confidence in my golf game.
“Again, just really pleased that it kept like all the work that I’ve put in, all the reps of the last month or so are coming to fruition and able to score the ball a little bit better. Which was a big key for me this week, just try to get out here and try to score the ball, don’t worry about swing, don’t worry about the other stuff.”
Adam Hadwin owned a piece of the lead after 36 holes at the 2025 Butterfield Bermuda, sitting at 10 under par.
The 38-year-old Canadian will attempt to become the fifth consecutive player from a different country to win the Butterfield Bermuda Championship.
Here are the others:
2024: Rafael Campos (Puerto Rico)2023: Camilo Villegas (Colombia)2022: Seamus Power (Ireland)2021: Lucas Herbert (Australia)
While others were caught off guard by the windy conditions on Saturday, Japan’s Rikuya Hoshino isn’t having any problems with the elements. Hoshino birdied six of his first 11 holes on Saturday and moved into a tie for the lead with Adam Hadwin. The 29-year-old Hoshino has one win on the DP World Tour and a half-dozen on the Japan Golf Tour.
There were three players from Bermuda in the field for the Butterfield Bermuda, but they all failed to reach the weekend.
Kenny Leseur (plus 3), Will Haddrell (plus 5), and Oliver Betschart (plus 7) all couldn’t make it through, but that’s nothing new at this event as no player from Bermuda has made the 36-hole cut in event history.
