Fully Subscribed led all performers on Friday with a 137 Horse Racing Nation speed figure in the Grade 3 Shuvee Stakes at Saratoga. The 4-year-old Tiz the Law filly, trained by Chad Brown, was the 8-5 second choice of six. She tracked midpack, made a run in the lane and overhauled favored Scottish Lassie by half a length. It was her first win this year after a pair of Grade 1 placings and her fourth victory in eight lifetime races.
My Gun’s Loaded earned a 130 HRN speed figure at Saratoga in an allowance-optional claiming dirt mile on Friday. The sophomore Gun Runner filly, trained by Chad Brown, was the 1-5 favorite. Toward the rear of a compact six-horse pack early, she bid around the far turn and took over in the lane to win by three lengths. It was her second win in three lifetime starts.
Consequent, in her first start since winning the Starlet (G2) last December, completed the top three with a 122 HRN speed figure in an allowance-optional claiming dirt mile at Ellis Park on Friday. Sent off the even-money favorite for trainer Bob Baffert, Consequent prompted the pace, opened up in the lane, and held to win by 1 1/4 lengths. The sophomore daughter of Into Mischief extended her record to three wins in three starts.

Fastest maiden winners
Yo Fancy posted the day’s highest figure among maiden winners with a 120 HRN speed figure in a 6 1/2-furlong maiden special weight at Ellis Park. Th 3-year-old Yaupon filly, trained by Ian Wilkes, was the 2-1 favorite in a field of 12. Settled toward the rear early, she made a sustained run and sustained it through the final stages, winning by 1 3/4 lengths, graduating in her second career start. She is out of the Malibu Moon mare Clarendon Fancy, an unraced full sister to Catch The Moon, the dam of graded-stakes winners Girvin, Cocked and Loaded, Midnight Bourbon and Pirate’s Punch. Clarendon Fancy has produced four winners from five starters led by Brightwork, an Outwork daughter who won the 2023 Spinaway (G1). She also produced Grade 3-placed Just as Fancy and stakes-placed Quiet Company.
Dynacito earned a 118 HRN speed figure in her seasonal debut, a frontrunning 3 3/4-length victory in a maiden special weight going 1 1/6 miles at Colonial Downs on Friday. The Brittany Russell trainee was the 5-2 second choice of eight. A sophomore daughter of Munnings, she graduated in her fifth career start. She is the seventh winner from 10 starters out of the unraced Dynaformer mare Dynaire. Her top runners include Sadler’s Joy (Kitten’s Joy), a Grade 1 winner who earned $2.68 million on the track, as well as Wolfie’s Dynaghost (Ghostzapper), a Grade 2 winner who earned $1.35 million.
Limited Edition recorded a 114 HRN speed figure in her victory Friday in a maiden special weight at 1 1/2 miles on the Saratoga lawn. A 4-year-old Not This Time gelding, the Philip Antonacci trainee was an 8-1 price in the field of nine. He chased midfield, made a big rally into the lane, and cleared off to win by 3 1/2 lengths to win in his 11th career start. He is the first starter and first winner out of the winning and stakes-placed Street Sense mare Nonsensical, a half-sister to Grade 2 and Group 2 winner Banishing, who has earned $3.1 million so far.

About HRN speed figures
HRN speed figures are AI-generated using HRN‘s proprietary machine-learning algorithms. Although they involve less human input than other speed figures, we see that as a plus as human adjustments often knock down surprisingly good performances to match expectations. HRN speed figures were launched in December 2024, and our expectation is also that the AI-generated speed figures will continuously get better over time.
The HRN speed figure scale goes from 1 to 160. Part of the reason for this higher scale is this helps us avoid assigning a speed figure of zero. For some products, in weaker races, half the field or more may get a speed figure of zero, which leads to inaccuracy and defeats the purpose of speed figures.
Because the HRN speed figures are based on machine learning, as we improve our models we can compute the numbers historically.
