
BALTIMORE, MD (WBFF) — The Baltimore Orioles have acquired a hard throwing depth bullpen option.
The team announced that it has traded cash considerations to the Cincinnati Reds for righthander Kyle Nicolas.
Baltimore then optioned Nicolas to Triple-A Norfolk.
Nicolas, 27, has a career 4.96 ERA in the Major Leagues, and has control issues, but is a hard thrower, with a fastball that can touch 97 MPH.

Over the past four seasons, he has pitched for the Pittsburgh Pirates and Reds, striking out 103 batters in 105.1 innings.
He has struggled in 2026 with both the Reds, and their Triple-A affiliate.
