Tigers vs Guardians doubleheader time, channel and streaming

The Detroit Tigers have an unusual schedule this Friday.

The Tigers are scheduled to play a doubleheader against the Cleveland Guardians on Friday, Sept. 4, with Game 1 scheduled for 2:10 p.m. ET and Game 2 scheduled for 7:15 p.m. ET.

Game 1 is a makeup for a Tigers-Guardians game from June 14 that was postponed due to rain.

The first game of the doubleheader will be televised on Detroit SportsNet, while the second game will be streamed exclusively on Apple TV+’s “Friday Night Baseball” broadcast. That means you’ll need an Apple TV+ subscription and a smart device with an internet connection to watch the game.

The Tigers had an off day on Thursday after their series loss to the Minnesota Twins in Minneapolis that kicked off the final month of the regular season. Detroit went 11-16 in August and watched their playoff odds fall to under 1% per the latest measure from FanGraphs, meaning that while they have not been mathematically eliminated from playoff contention, their odds of making the postseason for a third-straight year are just about zero.

But with only 23 games left in the regular season, there aren’t many opportunities left for Tigers fans to catch their favorite team before the season ends.

Here’s what you need to know about Friday’s doubleheader.
